I took a little 2.5 year old boy for a walk along the Hudson walking/bike path. While we were walking, he tripped and fell in a dirty puddle, and had it all over his face and clothes. I immediately realized he was not hurt, and began to make light of it and joke, “why did you do that” “oh no.” He let me take a picture and he had the biggest smile on his face. He said, “fall down, get all dirty.” It was a moment I cherish and will never forget. We laughed about it like old friends.
