For the past four years, I have lived in Atlanta while I attended Emory University for a BA in Creative Writing & Film, where I spent my summers babysitting, teaching, and being a counselor for many children, from ages 2-16. I am a creative, kind, and highly empathetic person, as well as a devoted and dedicated hard worker up to any challenge and every adventure! I adore caring for children during such an essential developmental time in their lives, providing them a safe, healthy, and happy environment to thrive in, and hope to do so with yours!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My first experience with childcare was being the older sister to two younger brothers! After that, I underwent a 3 week junior counselor training intensive and began working as a sleepaway camp counselor when I was 17, as well as receiving CPR and first aid certifications for a part-time job lifeguarding. Being a counselor is where I discovered my passion for childcare, as I lived and mentored a unit of four 7 year old girls for two weeks, and developed continuing relationships with the families of these girls long after camp ended, babysitting for them for years to come. By 19, I was nannying and babysitting part-time in the summer for ages from 2 years old to 12. Last summer, I had a position crafting lessons and teaching children aged 6-16 reading and writing, including those with special needs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am a BIG bookworm! I love reading and writing in my free time, teaching children to do so, and rarely go anywhere without bringing a book along in my bag. I also love to knit, craft, color, and bake with children! I am also a blend of an indoor/outdoor person- I ran cross country in high school, and still love running, hiking, swimming, and spending time in nature, especially daily walks. I grew up playing many different sports, including tennis, softball, archery, and horseback riding, so have I basic knowledge in teaching and playing those with kids. With previous families, we loved sports, making up and playing our own games in the backyard, as well as watching movies, and engaging in the occasional Mario Party competition! I also love animals- I have a family dog, a black Labrador who is 9, and am good playing with pets!

The most important part about being a nanny...

is FUN! I look back fondly on my personal experiences with my own nannies, babysitters, and other caregivers as some of my most foundational and joyful memories, and I believe the opportunity I have to provide that to other families is absolutely precious. I connect and care for children during such an essential developmental time in their lives, providing them a safe, healthy, and happy environment with lots of giggles and silliness.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a little experience teaching with neurodivergent children as a creative writing instructor and counselor, and very much valued those connections.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My last family and I had a big water balloon fight in the backyard! I was ambushed by the kids and unaware they had water balloons, so my work clothes and hair were SOAKED, but I quickly got up to speed, and we spent the entire afternoon chasing each other around and rolling in the grass!
