A little bit about me

Hi there! My name is Candace. I am a career nanny with over 19 years experience. I love being part of the parenting team and getting to know and love an entire family. I still keep in touch with the families I have worked for as they all hold a special place with me and I with them. I value continuing my education in the nanny profession. I attend nanny conferences (yes there is such thing), am up to date on CPR/First-Aid, etc.
I have many hobbies which include, photography, baking/cooking-although I am not a gourmet chef 😉, traveling, etc. I am also big on volunteering and very passionate about ending the mental health stigma and advocating create awareness for this cause, especially in our own backyard. I have volunteered with my churches, children's ministries and worked with the Make A Wish Foundation. I am moving to Greenville initially staying with family while I find a great fit for the next nanny family and from there will know the best area to secure my own housing!

"I can't say enough good things about Candace. I had been a stay at home mom for the majority of my child's life and after my divorce in 2019 I needed a nanny to take care of my 9 year old daughter while I worked crazy hours. Candace came in with her bag of snacks and games and loved my child in a way that made me comfortable enough to bring Candace into my home. I was getting videos of my daughter and Candace having dance parties, coming home to artwork and a home cooked meal every day. From January 2020-March 2020 she was there 7 days a week so not only when I was at work, but also my days off. She cooked us dinner, breakfast, cleaned my home and did my laundry on top of making my child extremely happy. This transition would have been impossible without her help ad unconditional love. Candace would have still been with our family if COVID-19 didn't change literally everything, causing me to work remotely for the rest of the year. Candace still remains a part of our family."

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Some of the position titles In my background include: Multi-Property Estate Manager/ Personal Assistant/Nanny For Family Of CEO, Household Manager/ Nanny/ Housekeeper/ Personal Assistant, International Estate Management/ Personal & Executive Assistant to CEO & Family / Senior Care Coordinator, Nanny, Chief Stewardess, Housekeeper, Nanny/ House Manager/ Housekeeping, Nanny to 6 Children Under The Age of 5, and House Manager. These are just a some of the roles I have held. I have worked with multiples (one family had 3 sets of twins!) as well as with special needs (both physical and mental) in professional settings but also as a repeat volunteer and in a personal capacity. I have cared for various families with unique backgrounds, ages, family dynamics including single parents, work from home, and traveling parents. I have worked as a live-out and live-in from Canada, Ohio, Delaware, Florida, California, Texas and all over in the Caribbean islands and Mexico as well as on luxury boats.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love organizing play dates, educational trips, craft days, etc. I am a very active nanny. I like to attend events, parks, play places, beaches, museums, children's story-time, etc.

I am looking for a family who would consider me to be part of the family. I love bonding with my nanny kids and parents and as much as I am a part of their life, they are apart of mine. Children bring such joy in my life and I love documenting our days... whether its sending you pictures, updating you on how our day is going, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The needs of the children always come first but I am open to having other responsibilities if needed. I have been responsible for grocery shopping, ordering all needs for the household (or otherwise requested needs), making all home and family member related appointments and scheduling, planning parties, tutoring, and any other need that may arise while I am working to help your household and family be a stress free place of joy as possible.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with a wide range of special needs children with a variety of differing needs from mental health and psychiatric disorders and disabilities to mild and sever psychical disorders and disabilities . I have always had children with disabilities such as diabetes and sever allergies. I have years of experience working with the make a wish foundation in Orlando and Christmas Florida. I have helped parents to not just accept but also to address disabilities that were not yet being treated and have taken classes taught by Dr.Robert Melillo towards my certification in his program to treat a variety and issues within the brain while also working hand in hand with him on a young clients with sever nonverbal and violent ASD among other diagnoses. I pursued degrees in both psychology and nursing.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I worked for a family of a single mom at Christmas time one year. I had been with them for a few years and the mother agreed to house sit for a friend of hers on Christmas Eve and take care of the farm of a dear friend whose daughter had recently passed away. On Christmas Eve she was visibly deflated that she and her two boys were stuck there where not one decoration or ounce of festiveness was to be found and unfortunately they were over and hour and half from home so it was not an option to anything but go to bed and try to explain the lack of Christmas morning magic in the morning to her 9year old. After they went to bed I snuck out and to our home and packed up the tree decorations and all the gifts and put them in my car. I drove back to the farm and set them all up and left a note in the guest house from his elf on the shelf saying to come up and see the gift he had left. When he walked in mom was sobbing and her son screamed “SANTAS MAGIC SAVED CHRISTMAS!” Hands down best moment
