A little bit about me

My name is Candace and I'm a fun loving, soft hearted thirty six year old. I have a wonderful family, fiancé, and two little dogs named Bitsy and Brick Mason who are my babies. I am well mannered and well educated. Attended College of Charleston for three years with a Teaching Fellows Scholarship and LIFE scholar. While there, I tutored a young boy and was able to get him on the AB Honor roll after one semester, when he was previously failing five of six classes. I then attended Lander University for two years with an emphasis in Psychology. No children biologically, but will treat and care for yours like my own. I encourage each child I interact with to be courteous, respectful and 100% themselves. I try my best to incorporate life and educational lessons into everyday encounters, but do so in fun ways to where they don't even realize they are "learning" . I will always respect and abide by your rules/expectations as a parent.I am looking forward to meeting you and your little ones.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I have an autistic nephew who will be six in October him and I have bonded while swinging on the hammock together, turning off the lights in the living room and watching stars project onto the ceiling, and our all time favorite thing to do is build forts made out of bedsheets and dresser drawers together. His ten year old brother and I enjoy throwing darts at the dart board (a kiddie one of course!), having nerf gun fights out in the yard, and painting on blank canvases. We like to battle on the Foosball table and hat on the walkie talkies too!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The greatest joy I have in being a Nanny is the chance to instill good morals and values in the upcoming leaders of our country. I stress manners and respect and love to feel as if I've made a valuable difference in a child's life. I enjoy building confidence in children and letting them know they are "cool" exactly how the6 are. Especially since I cannot have kids of my own, it truly is rewarding to me and makes my heart smile.

My experience with special needs children...

As a teacher Cader, I worked closely with the special education classes, particularly the emotionally handicapped. I have also taken courses focused on special education and even coached at the special Olympics!
