A little bit about me

My name is Carissa. I am a local of Greenville, SC, and am looking for part time work while on the road to becoming a professional photographer.
My current schedule is based around elementary schoolers aged seven and ten, but I am open to change; while looking to work around twenty hours per week.
I've had five years of experience being a nanny. Two of those have been spent with older girls and more of them with a toddler girl.
While I am at work, I am an organized, neat, and creative person.
I work with young children on learning skills like potty training, reading, and active play.
With older kids, I have taught social emotional learning, responsibility through chores, and conflict resolution between siblings.
I like to be a calm, creative, knowledgeable, and kind individual to be with a child whenever their parents aren’t there for them.
I can provide first aid and sick care.
While not currently CPR licensed, I am more than willing to have this done!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've worked in children's care in private as a nanny, a baby sitter, and in church nursery. Many of the children I have worked with still invite me to their birthday parties every year and I happily attend.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love kids, so doing anything with them is a pleasure, but I am an artist so working with little ones in anything art related is truly my happiest place! When it comes to sidewalk chalk, coloring books, or creative play...I will be right in my comfort zone. I also love singing and work in photography.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for children on the autism spectrum. Kids who need their sensory needs to be tuned into, their meltdowns and shutdowns both monitored, guided, and lovingly coached.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment with a kid is always the one where they hug you when you're having a rough day. Children are little mirrors and often reflect what you show them.
They need feedback from their caretakers and to help them form good connections to the world around them. Every single child is unique and has their own form of communication. Learning it is always the first step to bonding.
