A little bit about me

I am the oldest of three kids and have been a babysitter or a nanny my whole life. I used to be first-aid/CPR certified but it expired during my time at college (I would be willing to get re-certified). All throughout high school, I babysit the kids of my parents friends, and I also nannied a family in my neighborhood. Throughout the later-half of high school, I nannied and drove four kids around. At Truman, I studied to be a high school biology teacher, and I'm currently in the master's program after finishing up my bachelors degree.

I was a Sunday School teacher in high school, from 2015 to 2017. I've also been a taekwondo teacher since 2015 to present. I'm also a certified substituted teacher and was a student teacher at Knox County High School. I was also a summer camp counselor for two years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Some of my favorite things to do with children are playing games or make-believe, painting and drawing, going on walks, or playing at the park.

The most important part about being a nanny is leaving a positive impact on the kids you're taking care of and giving them a positive role model in life.

My experience with special needs children...

One of the families I used to nanny for had multiple special needs children. The youngest had epilepsy and other health complications. Two other kids had ADHD and one of the kids had anxiety. I've also worked with some kids with autism and ADHD while teaching taekwondo.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was during the summer of 2017, when the mom of the family I nannied for broke both of her arms. Through this summer, I spent almost every moment with the family, driving them different places and playing with the kids. It was the most fun I've ever had during the summer.
