More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have extensive experience caring for children, including three years as a part-time nanny for a family in Dublin, Ireland, and babysitting for several families with children ranging from 1 to 13 years old over the past four years. I started babysitting at 16, so I bring over a decade of experience to the role. In college, I volunteered as a naturalist hike leader for 3rd to 5th graders, which allowed me to combine my love for nature with teaching. I also led STEM weekend classes for high school students as part of my role as a STEM outreach officer, and I taught basic Spanish to an after-school class of kindergarteners. These experiences have given me a strong foundation in both childcare and educational activities.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy both outdoor and indoor activities, depending on the weather. I love hiking and playing in the snow, which offer great opportunities for kids to explore and be active. When I was a part-time nanny, we had a lot of fun cooking together and building forts, which always sparked creativity and teamwork. Additionally, I have unofficially taught yoga classes, which I find very rewarding. One day, I hope to get my certification to teach yoga to children and people with disabilities, combining my passion for mindfulness and inclusivity.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe the most important part of being a nanny is balancing safety and structure with emotional support and genuine enjoyment of the children. Ensuring their well-being and following any household rules are essential, but it's equally important to create a nurturing environment where the children feel loved, supported, and happy. Building a strong, positive relationship with the children makes the job not only effective but also truly rewarding.
My experience with special needs children...
While I don't have direct experience working with children with special needs, I have completed online training in autism awareness and sports inclusion and disability awareness. Since I was born, my cousin has lived with and cared for two adults with special needs—one with autism and one with Down syndrome—who reside in her home. Additionally, my mother worked with adults and teens with learning and developmental disabilities, which exposed me to neurodivergent individuals from a young age. These experiences have given me a deep understanding and comfort level around people with special needs, and I'm confident in my ability to support children in a compassionate and informed way.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when the girls I nannied gave me Valentine's Day cards. Their sweet, heartfelt messages made me realize just how strong our bond had become. Over the years, I loved watching them grow up and was often surprised by how eager they were to help in the kitchen when I was making their snacks and dinners. It was a touching reminder of the meaningful relationships we had built, and it hit me then how much I would miss them after moving out of Dublin.

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Saint Paul, MN: Madalyn B.
Hi, my name is Madee! This upcoming fall the boy I’ve been nannying for the last 2 1/2 years will be starting kindergarten, so I am in search for a new job!! I’ve been working with kids since elementary/middle school, I have 3 younger siblings so I started with them! From there I branched out to family friends and friends of my younger siblings. I started with the boy I’m with now when he was 2, he’s 5 now. It has been such an honor to watch him learn and grow into his own person, his personality and watch how quickly he learns. Nothing makes me happier than being able to be a support for that. Not only did I make a relationship with the kids, but the parents as well. That is something I cherish very much, having an understanding boss who I can open up to and have a close relationship with. I’m looking for morning/early afternoon hours to fill in my time! I am CPR and first aid certified, I have my own vehicle and I’m up to date on all my vaccines!
