Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Engaging in activities the children are interested in, whether it’s playing with their favorite toys, games, coloring, reading, playing outdoors or just creating our own entertainment.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being present, engaging with the children, paying attention to their needs spoken and unspoken. Helping them to feel safe, secure and cared about.
My experience with special needs children...
While studying Pre Physical Therapy at Oregon State University, I participated in the clinic, created by the PT department. Children with special needs were brought into the clinic, we assessed their particular needs and aided in developing activities, programs and skills for every day living. The range of special needs in these children, ranged from physical, including paraplegia, Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, among others, to emotional traumas. The program was extremely successful. And during my time there I was promoted from student assistant, to clinician, where I mentored peers.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being greeted with enthusiasm and excitement when I see them, this warms my heart and gives me confidence in our bond. I feel it gives parents the confidence that their children are in good hands and they can go about their work day worry free.
