My experience with special needs children...
I worked at an ABA therapy clinic for children who have autism for about 3 years. Many of our clients were non verbal and had additional health specifications. I am happy to talk through specifics upon request.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I worked with a family who was going through a difficult divorce at the time and in turn that added a lot of stress to the children. The youngest felt everything the most and in turn had a lot of behaviors because of it. One morning I arrived and the youngest refused to go to school or leave his room. We were able to talk through the door, joke about life, and get to a position where he was willing to continue with his day. Though such a small moment, it was huge growth for this kiddo to exhibit some trust again!
