A little bit about me

Hi! I am a mature care provider with many years of experience caring for children. I currently work part time as a pre school teacher, and a nanny to an elementary school age child, and I love every minute of it! I have been with her for 5 years and my previous client who outgrew needing a nanny, I was with him for over 4 years: I have lots of experience planning and implementing activities. I am not a fan of screens so screen time is very limited if used at all. Children learn through play and I am a caregiver who gets on the floor with children and plays along with them. I foster independence in children and help them learn to solve problems.
I am CPR and First Aid certified with the Red Cross - along with a water safety certification. I have been through a background check including fingerprints with the Department of Justice for my preschool. I have over 30 units in Early Care and Education, am a non smoker and have an excellent driving record..

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I drove a 5 year old boy on the spectrum to and from school. I cared for him in the morning before school and after school. I was also a date night sitter for the same family. He was under my care for 3 years until sadly, they moved away I also currently care for a 9 year old girl . I’ve been with her since she was 4. I have become part of the family and really enjoy our time together. I pick her up from school and prepare meals and help with homework along with planning and implementing art projects and other learning and fun activities daily. I also have experience as a mother's helper and care provider for three children age 1-10. In addition I work part time as a preschool teacher, working with 2-5 year olds. I have been in this position for 4 years. I also watch children for parents who need a date night sitter.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love arts and crafts! I have a fully stocked art room I pull activities and supplies from. From painting to collage, your child will enjoy many opportunities for creative art and play.
I also have an extensive collection of books and love to read to children. One of the things the preschool children absolutely love is my puppets. I also am knows as the “bubble “ teacher as I enjoy making ginormous bubbles with the children. My reference letter mentions how much fun I bring to the children. Playing outside is another favorite activity.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think keeping the children safe and the parents comfortable that their child is well cared for and safe is the most important thing. I also like to challenge children to learn new things and to become a problem solver . I guide children to make decisions and problem solve by asking questions and being a safe place to make mistakes and learn from them.

My experience with special needs children...

I was a nanny for a 4 year old boy on the Autism spectrum. I also work with children at preschool with a multitude of special needs from Down’s syndrome to ADHD and Autism.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is when I become part of the family and any time I make a child smile or laugh or become proud of themselves when they master a new task or challenge. I taught my most recent client to swim and I really enjoyed the surprise from the parents when they saw their child jumping in and. Swimming underwater in such a short amount of time they thought we were just playing around but were thrilled to know their daughter knew how to swim.
