A little bit about me

I graduated high school December 2019. I’m studying Human Development and Family Sciences with an emphasis in Child and Adolescent Development at MVCC. I was recently a full time teacher at a Daycare in Dolton, IL, however I was laid off due to COVID-19 and the shelter in place order. I would do outdoor activities (weather permitting), board games, exercise, intellectual games, etc.. Games and activities or readings that would be fun and beneficial physically and academically for everyone that’s involved. Also, my favorite children’s book is Charlotte’s Web and Junie B Jones book you can think of, I still have the collection from scholastic fairs in middle school. I have credit hours to be a teacher and/or assistant teacher at any home daycare or facility. I have experience with children of all ages provided to me by various locations. I’m also CPR and First Aid Certified. Also, I have experience with children of all ages and disabilities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I like the fact that I can learn from the kids. We teach each other. That I get to study and understand them as people and individuals so that I can be of better service to them and the parents. Before I started at the daycare in Dolton, I was a full time teacher at a home daycare. Previous to that , I was a teacher’s assistant at a daycare facility in Orland for the infant and toddler room. My typical day included: breakfast, children’s play, song time, pledge, story time, coloring/stimulating activity, morning snack, active time/exercising, diaper change, lunch time, nap time, diaper change, snack, paper of the day, after-school (kids start going home). My mom is a special education teacher at a high school so I learned the ins and out of Sp-Ed early on and found out quick that I had an eye for it.
