A little bit about me

Hi! I recently graduated from California State University, Fresno with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Communication Disorders. I come from a large family and am the oldest of seven siblings, so caring for younger children has always been a natural part of my life. I am a warm, dependable, and organized person who enjoys reading, cooking, staying active, and creating calm, positive environments. My background in psychology has given me a strong understanding of child development and communication, which I bring into my caregiving style. I am patient, responsible, and easy to communicate with. I am excited to support a family while building meaningful relationships and being a steady, positive presence in their children’s lives.

I am currently ONLY seeking live-in positions unless interested in Nov/Dec start date.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am a nanny with 5 years of childcare experience in both full-time and part-time roles with multiple families. I have worked full-time for three families for at least one year each, and part-time for three additional families for a minimum of one year each. I have experience caring for children of various ages, including twins, and am comfortable managing multiple children at once. I have supported daily routines such as meal preparation, school readiness, homework assistance, bedtime routines, and engaging children in structured and unstructured activities. I adapt easily to different household expectations and parenting styles while maintaining consistency and routine for the children. I am fluent in American Sign Language and have used it in caregiving to support communication and early language development. I also have academic training in applied behavioral concepts and adolescent communication, which I incorporate into my caregiving approach when appropriate.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy planning age-appropriate, engaging activities that support cognitive, emotional, and social development. I incorporate creative play such as arts and crafts, coloring, painting, and storytelling to encourage imagination, focus, and language development. I also enjoy music and movement activities like dance parties and interactive games to keep children active and engaged. I include educational play such as puzzles, reading aloud, early learning activities, and conversation-based learning to support communication skills. I also enjoy outdoor and off-site activities such as walks, parks, playground visits, and age-appropriate outings that encourage exploration and independence. I aim to balance structured learning with free play, helping children develop routines while still having space for creativity and choice. I also prioritize activities that reduce excessive screen time and encourage hands-on, interactive engagement tailored to each child’s age and interests.

The most important part about being a nanny...

is providing a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where children can thrive. Maintaining clear and consistent boundaries helps children feel secure and supported in their daily routines. I value strong communication and teamwork with parents. Every family has its own parenting style, and I believe it is important to be adaptable, respectful, and aligned with household expectations so children receive consistency between caregivers and parents. Studying Psychology has given me a broader understanding of child development and how daily interactions can significantly impact a child’s emotional, social, and cognitive growth. This has reinforced my belief in being intentional, patient, and present in my interactions with children. I believe childhood should be joyful, creative, and full of curiosity. I aim to help children feel confident, understood, and excited to learn about the world around them, while being a positive, steady influence during such an important stage of life.

My experience with special needs children...

I have academic knowledge of developmental and communication differences through my studies in Psychology and Communication Disorders, including coursework related to child development, communication, and behavioral concepts. In hands-on experience, I have worked with a set of twins, that I nannied for two years, on the autism spectrum while supporting care in the home alongside a Registered Behavior Technician. In this role, I observed and assisted with structured routines and applied strategies recommended by the RBT when appropriate, while maintaining consistency and support in the home environment. I am comfortable collaborating with professionals and following established care plans while using my own knowledge to support positive communication and engagement.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite parts of being a nanny is building long-term relationships with children and watching them grow and reach new milestones. Both of my long-term nanny families I worked with began with children as young as newborn to 6 months old, and I cared for them through ages 2–3 years old. It has been very meaningful to support children through such important early developmental stages and to be a consistent presence in their lives. I especially enjoy seeing children develop independence, confidence, and personality over time. (seeing the different personalities in siblings come over time is my favorite) I also value the variety that comes with travel nanny experiences. Some of my favorite memories include exploring new places with children, helping them experience new activities, and seeing how adaptable and curious they become in different settings.
