Hi there! Semi-retired, my name is Catherine. 43 years old live in Brewster. Have been babysitting all my life on and off since my brother was born when I was 8 years old. Babysat all neighborhood kids and kids I met lifeguarding and teaching tennis. Last year I took and passed a CNA class because my parents and aunt and uncle are getting old and I wanted to know how to help them. Northeastern University English Lit grad of 2004. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

In high school I took a child day care class, I substitute taught. I have a goddaughter and a godson. I started babysitting my younger brother very early and the childhood neighbors at age 12 1/2. I babysit for my friends, younger cousins and I thoroughly enjoy playing and taking care of children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I like to bring things with me like coloring books or stickers or age appropriate games. I also like to have the children show me what their interests are. I always seem to create fun games for the children to play. I like bringing children to the playground and the beach if approved and wanted by their parents. I try to keep things fun and entertaining but most importantly, safe.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making sure the child or children feel safe and provided for. A little TLC and or kindness and empathy never hurts either.

My experience with special needs children...

I have no experience caring for special needs children. Therefore I don’t feel comfortable I am qualified to care for special needs children adequately.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was babysitting my friends six year old and four year old recently and we pretended the couch was a boat and we were at sea and had to fish for food and hold onto each other when pretend big waves hit to make sure none of us fell out of the “boat.”
