A little bit about me

I have worked with children ages ranging from 4 days old to 15 years old. I have been babysitting for 10 plus years. I have a degree in Elementary Education and Special Education and a concentration in Behavioral Studies. I worked at a daycare and have experience in all ages from infant to preschool. Multiple children at a time is not an issue whether it be twins or different ages. I have cared and worked with children who have special needs. I have cared for a child who uses a feeding tube and needed meds to be administered. I love playing outside, arts and crafts, sensory, and doing age appropriate activities. I have nannied for a family in the summers to travel with them. I currently nanny and have a curriculum in place to help the children reach their appropriate milestones for their ages. I do light house cleaning like dishes, laundry, meal prepping and tidying up after the children.

My experience with special needs children...

I worked at a residential program for severe autism. I taught the students with ABA trials. I worked with a range of ages for students who have intellectual disabilities. I have cared for a teenager who uses a feeding tube, in a wheelchair, and give medications. The child is unable to get around on his own and limited in areas such as toileting and communication. I do have a BS in Elementary Ed Special Ed and Behavioral Studies.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I see the biggest smiles on the children when I walk in and immediately want to get the day started.

Moments when the children understand and realize things through incidental teaching and are the happiest that they were able to do something. Seeing the success and confidence in the children is a rewarding feeling.
