I have volunteered to watch children for a long period, 5 hours seemed to be the minimum at the time. I would gladly work more than that.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy most activities, coloring, catch, video games...oddly enough some homework. I find ways to make everyday tasks a challenge or even a game!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I find most important about being a nanny is the kids health, which is an obvious. Other than the child's mental and physical health I would say doing what needs to be done while finding unique ways to have fun with it. This would allow the kid to never lose interest in that small task. Plus the more they find it interesting, the more they do it or they will just do it with out you needed to ask. At least not as much.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when I was watching this one kid more on the younger side, about 7 or so, he asked me if it was okay if he could give me a hug. I said of course and he said that his mom said it wasn't safe but I was an exception. I'm not going to lie, I was so close to shedding a tear.
