The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe the most important part of being a nanny is leaving a positive impression on the whole family.
This includes helping improve the child in any way like education, behavior, communication, etc. As for the family (adults), making them feel comfortable with me and to see progress in the children and in harmony within the home.

My experience with special needs children...
The children I have experience with have either a health issue like diabetes or with a learning disability like dyslexia.
I have also had experience being friends with young ones who have ADHD and Down syndrome.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I had a very needy child in my last babysitting job, needy meaning physically through food and emotionally through behavior.
He would constantly push around his younger brother who was only 1 year old.
One day, I was not in the mood for it and I had to discipline him by being stern and taking away anything he touched that was outside of a book, food, or something to drink. He hated it but each time I would explain in easy terms why he was in trouble.
Then, on my last day with them, I was about to leave when the parents and I realized the boys were laughing somewhere. We looked around and finally found them in the play tent cuddling and reading a funny book. I almost cried and the parents were very shocked and happy. I lived for that moment and I'm happy I played even a small part in that.
