I have done volunteer work for 2 years with children between ages of 3 and 17 as a child assist at a Child Advocacy Center.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Going to a local park, or taking a nature walk around Drayton Plains Nature Conservatory.
I'm a big fan of reading and would be happy to share this love with other children, to keep down the screen time.
I'm a fan of arts and crafts as well, with a touch of sustainability so no toxic chemicals, using items usually found around the house or yard such as leaves/sticks.
Gently teaching little ones to be accountable for their belongings and space is also a favorite of mine, as this is an important trait to learn early on in order to succeed with many later-in-life activities.

My experience with special needs children...
My little sister has Downs Syndrome and requires special attention to keep her interest and focus. One of my friends is blind, and so that has given me some insight into how to assist in that way, albeit her not being a child.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One time I was watching this little girl, and we went to the park and then I took her to an ice cream stand afterward. On our way home, just admiring the sunshine and the plants, we sang songs and just had a blast. The childlike innocence really made my day and reminded me to not be too serious!
