I am currently working as a preschool teacher, working with kids aged 3-4. At this school, I have also worked with all ages, from infants to VPK. This experience has given me teaching skills alongside childcare skills. Through my previous experience as a nanny, I have more experience with infant care to elementary age care. I began nannying for my previous family from their first kid being 3 months old until shortly after she began elementary school. During that time, they had another baby boy as well. The most important part about being a nanny is providing peace of mind to parents/family members. It is hard to go back to work when all you want to do is stay by your baby's side. It is important to have a strong bond of trust, built through consistent care and connection, so that you can provide in the ways you need to.

I do not have previous experience with special needs children or children with disabilities, but I am open minded and always willing to learn.

The most important part about being a nanny...

is being a part of the village, because it really does take a village to raise them. The first kid I ever babysat is taller than me now! Getting to see how far kids not only grow physically, but to see how they grow into themselves and their personalities makes it all unbelievably rewarding.
