One of my favorite nanny moments was helping a shy 4-year-old I cared for conquer their fear of the playground slide. At first, they clung to me at the top, terrified to go down alone, so I sat at the bottom and cheered them on gently. After a few tries each time celebrating their bravery they finally slid down by themselves, beaming with pride. Seeing that newfound confidence and how it carried over into trying other activities was incredibly rewarding.
