Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have six siblings and have frequently babysat and helped care for my younger brothers and sisters, giving me hands-on experience supervising children, helping with daily routines, preparing simple meals, and creating a safe and positive environment. I have also volunteered in my church's nursery and regularly supervised younger children during adult Bible study, keeping them engaged, safe, and entertained while their parents attended class. One of my strengths is reading aloud to children, and I enjoy bringing stories to life with enthusiasm to encourage imagination and a love of books. These experiences have helped me develop patience, responsibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to care for children of different ages with kindness, attentiveness, and reliability.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy spending active, creative time with children and encouraging their imagination. Some of my favorite activities include reading books aloud, helping children create and write their own short stories, drawing, playing outside, going on walks, and joining in whatever imaginative or silly games they come up with. I especially enjoy activities that keep kids engaged and active, whether that's playing tag, building forts, exploring nature, or inventing new games together. While I'm not very good at video games, I enjoy interacting with children in ways that encourage creativity, movement, learning, and having fun together.

The most important part of being a nanny is making sure the children are safe, well cared for, and happy while giving parents peace of mind. I believe a great nanny is someone the family can trust to be dependable, communicate well, and treat the home with respect. I also think it's important to keep the house clean, stay organized, complete responsibilities thoroughly, and make sure the family's expectations are met. My goal is for parents to come home knowing their children were cared for, their home was respected, and everything that needed to be done was done well.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with children with special needs comes from both school and hands-on learning. I have worked with students with a variety of support needs at school and have taken an Assisted Art class, where I learned how to communicate effectively, encourage participation, and create a fun, supportive environment for students with different abilities. Through these experiences, I developed patience, adaptability, and an understanding that every child learns and communicates differently. I enjoy helping children feel included, respected, and confident while supporting them at their own pace.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite babysitting memory is a funny moment with my younger brother. While I was watching my siblings and cleaning the house, he surprised me by giving me a "maid outfit" as a joke because he thought it matched all the cleaning I was doing. I laughed, thanked him for the joke, and definitely did not wear it. It's a memory that always makes me smile because it reminds me how much fun it can be to build positive, lighthearted relationships with the children I'm caring for while still getting the job done.
