More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Relevant experience where I also cared for children includes working as a Girl Scout camp counselor for 2 to 3 weeks at a time, living outdoors in tents alongside campers and other counselors. During this time, I gained extensive knowledge of outdoor survival, safety, and cooking techniques, as we prepared all meals over fire pits. This experience taught me to manage challenges in a rugged environment while ensuring the children’s safety and well-being. I have also supported children with behavioral and developmental needs, providing patient and consistent care in partnership with parents.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy engaging children in creative and active ways that build confidence and curiosity. Arts and crafts, storytelling, and imaginative play are favorites. With training in swimming, archery, and outdoor skills from my time as a camp counselor, I enjoy introducing safe outdoor activities that build resilience. I also support homework and school projects and love incorporating music and drama from my theatre background.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is recognizing that children are individuals learning who they are. My role is to guide them with patience, consistency, and encouragement while providing a safe and nurturing environment. Being trusted to support their growth is something I take seriously and consider a privilege.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience supporting children with diverse behavioral and developmental needs and focus on creating structured, supportive environments tailored to each child. Out of respect for the privacy of the families I’ve worked with, I’m happy to discuss specific experiences and approaches directly.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite experiences was working as a Girl Scout camp counselor during three week overnight camps. Many children struggled with homesickness at first, and it was incredibly rewarding to watch them grow into confident, engaged members of the group by the end. Supporting that transformation reminded me why I love this work.
