Hi, I’m Chloe! I’m 16 and about to start my junior year at Smithson Valley High School. I’m the oldest of two siblings and all my cousins, so I’ve naturally taken on a leadership role in my family. With my dad deployed and my mom working hard, I help out a lot at home whether it’s caring for my siblings or handling daily chores. I’m energetic, responsible, and love staying busy. I really enjoy volunteering, especially with kids. Helping at Community Bible Church’s Vacation Bible School has taught me patience, creativity, and how to connect with younger children. I’m now looking for a summer job where I can keep learning, take on new responsibilities, and be a positive part of a team. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve had a lot of experience caring for young children, both in my family and through volunteering. I regularly help with my three younger cousins—a 6-month-old baby boy, a 2-year-old girl, and a 5-year-old boy—which has taught me how to juggle different needs and stay patient and calm. I also babysit two little girls, ages 1 and 4, from time to time. One of my favorite experiences has been being a group leader at Community Bible Church’s Vacation Bible School. I helped lead kids through games, crafts, and lessons, and it really showed me how much I enjoy connecting with and encouraging younger children. These experiences have helped me grow more responsible, creative, and confident when working with kids.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love spending time with kids whether we’re outside or inside. Outdoors, I enjoy running around with them, playing games like tag or hide and seek, or just exploring and being silly together. Indoors, I like doing crafts, reading books, building things with blocks, or playing board games. It’s fun to get creative and see how excited they get over the little things. I just really enjoy being part of their world and making sure they’re having a good time.

My experience with special needs children...

I have two cousins with special needs, both on the autism spectrum. Spending time with them has really taught me a lot about patience and understanding, and how every child has their own way of communicating and connecting. It’s helped me learn to be more flexible and kind, and to meet each child where they’re at. That’s why I’m really excited to volunteer this summer at Camp Camp, a one-week camp for kids with special needs. I can’t wait to be part of a fun, caring environment where everyone feels supported. I know this experience will help me grow and get even better at working with all kinds of kids.
