More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I co-directed a performance at a Montessori school with around 40 students ages 7-9. My codirector and I were solely responsible for all of these children, some of whom had learning or physical disabilities. We helped them understand Shakespeare, build a set and make costumes! It was a very challenging and rewarding experience.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Because most of my work is with infants, I spend a lot of my time holding them and soothing them to sleep. I particularly enjoy baby-wearing as a method of connecting and calming them, singing to the babies, and helping them build their strength through tummy time. For the older children, I love making arts and crafts with them, reading to them, and teaching them how to understand their emotions and express themselves. When the weather permits, I also love to take walks with the kids I nanny and play in parks or on playgrounds.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is truly understanding the responsibility of the job. Knowing how important you are to the children you work with and how much of an impact you can have on them is very important. Knowing that I’ve been able to have a positive impact on so many kids is really meaningful to me and I cherish that responsibility. I also think it is crucial to work with parents as a team to provide the best possible care for their children, and to always remember that parents know what is best for their kids, and my job is to help them balance their lives between work, family, and personal life.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when I witnessed a baby girl (5 months old) laugh for the first time. The pure joy and happiness that she was feeling in that moment was very special and I feel so lucky to have seen such a big milestone for her!

Babysitter Available in Ithaca, NY: Zoe R.
I’m graduating from Cornell this May as a Government and English major. Outside of studies, I’ve spent the past three years building a board gaming community at Cornell, running a literary magazine, hiking, and propagating my plants. I believe that the most valuable experiences that kids can have are those away from screens. I would love to bring some of my kid-friendly games to teach, to go on walks with, and to engage in any kind of play that your children enjoy :). I also love cooking and cleaning, and am great at juggling either while watching kids.
