I babysit many family throughout the year. I have worked with family’s that have special needs, newborns, kids all the way up to 15 years old. I was the coached gymnastics classes staring from (mommy-and-me) to competition team. I help volunteer at the church with children groups.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love going to the library to read and do art and crafts, going to the park. I enjoy taking them to the pool or waterpark. I enjoy setting up arts and crafts. I help teach some families Spanish lessons. I help teach the kids independence when competing hard tasks. Overall, I try to be as present with the kids as much as possible.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My most important part about being a nanny is working with the children. I love to see how much they learn and develop and follow the things I taught them. I think that having a good relationship with the kids and parents is important to me because it helps me to direct the kids into the right direction when they are upset, mad, frustrated, irritated and any emotion that comes their way. Overall, having good communication is the most important thing to me.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked with many special needs children though a gymnastics program teaching them many skills like physical activity, leadership, responsibility, confidence, and so much more. I have nannied for a families with autistic children. I have also worked for families with children in wheelchairs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment, has probably been throughout this past year being at school in Hawaii, when my past nanny family will reach out to me to show me what their kids have learned. And the parents saying that they learned how to do the these things from me and wish they could be like me when they grow up. I also love building a personal relationship with the kids. It helps them grow confident in who they are and feel safe to talk to me when they are angry, sad, happy, frustrated. They learn so much from having a good influence on them and it makes me so proud to see them improve.
