More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I also cared for children includes babysitting for family members and family friends, helping supervise playdates, and assisting with after-school routines. I’ve supported children with homework, prepared simple meals and snacks, organized games and creative activities, and helped maintain consistent bedtime routines.
I’ve also helped care for younger children by changing diapers, preparing bottles, and keeping them engaged with age-appropriate activities. Through these experiences, I’ve learned how important patience, clear communication, and attentiveness are. Making sure children feel safe, supported, and understood has always been my top priority.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Activities I enjoy doing with children include arts and crafts, reading stories, outdoor play, and creative games that encourage imagination. I love planning simple activities that are both fun and educational, whether that’s doing puzzles, building with blocks, baking together, or working on small DIY projects.
I also enjoy helping with homework and turning learning into something engaging rather than stressful. If we’re outside, I like organizing active games, going for walks, or spending time at the park. With younger children, I enjoy sensory play, singing songs, and interactive storytelling.
Overall, I try to choose activities based on the child’s interests and age so they feel excited, involved, and supported while having fun.

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and consistent environment where children feel secure and valued. It’s not just about supervising — it’s about building trust, being a positive role model, and supporting a child’s emotional, social, and intellectual development.
I believe communication is also key — both with the children and with parents. Understanding a child’s needs, personality, and routine helps create stability, and keeping parents informed builds confidence and partnership.
Above all, being a nanny means showing up with patience, empathy, and genuine care every single day. The little moments of encouragement, guidance, and connection are what truly make a difference.

The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when one of the children I cared for finally mastered something they had been struggling with. I had been helping them practice reading every day, and one afternoon they read a full page out loud on their own with so much confidence and excitement. The huge smile on their face and how proud they felt was such a special moment for me.
It reminded me why I love working with kids — being able to support them, encourage them, and watch their confidence grow. Knowing I played even a small part in that milestone was incredibly rewarding.

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Fayetteville, NC: Leslie L.
Recently moved to Fayetteville. My husband is a retired marine now government contractor. Looking for a part time child care position. I have been a schoolteacher and yoga instructor for the past 20 years. I raised 2 children and believe reading, singing, speech, and play are paramount to a healthy childhood. Even when they were babies I talked to them about what I was doing…and smiled a lot.
I loved every staged of growth, yet understand the need for parents to have space. I also love family pets, cooking, and the outdoors.
I have a BA in biology and history and a MA in history. I just don’t want to teach anymore and am ready to put my love of children in a different sphere.
