Salutations, I am Christina Carri an experienced educator and nanny. I understand the complexities of raising a family in a healthy environment. Personally, I have raised four of my own children. All my children were identified as gifted and talented in their primary school age. I credit their educational success to a structured homeschool schedule I was blessed to implement in our home.
I have a bachelors degree in early childhood development. I have 10+ years in education as a preschool teacher/special needs aid and third grade English teacher.
For the past three years, I have had the privilege of nanny-ship with a family of two special needs children. It truly brings me joy to help families navigate these precious early years of childhood. As a nanny additionally I can assist with grocery shopping, light housekeeping, home organization and gardening. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

in the school setting as a preschool teacher, special needs aide, third grade teacher and nanny. My experience consists of: toilet training, assisting with physical therapy, language development, sleep training, arts and crafts, meal prep, maintaining clean and safe environments, transportation, social skill development and scheduling age appropriate activities.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

art, crafts, video games, sports, biking, nerf battles, walking, puzzles, building towers-railroads-marble mazes, reading, dress up and cooking, Also taking trips to parks, museums, gardens and children play facilities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

is being a positive support for the family as a whole. Clear communication of schedules, responsibilities and discipline methods are essential. Additionally as a teacher and parent myself I find intuition and compassion allow for teachable moments to be fostered. Assisting parents with daily activities to help relieve stress or allow for much needed rest is a task I gratefully accept. As stated in my application, I have raised four of my own children as well as supervised classroom of 15-28 students, I realize the benefits of having another set of eyes, arms and driving skills that help to keep chaos at a minimum.

My experience with special needs children...

started in preschool. I have worked with non verbal and verbal children, physically challenged and moderate to high functioning autistic children. Children with behavioral challenges with emotional disturbance. While in the educational system I was CPI certified for two years.

The most important part about being a nanny...

to date, is seeing my current autistic five year old nanny child confidently perform on stage, in the middle of his classsmates before the whole school. Singing out loud while doing all the hand gestures.
Also the acceptance of my three year old nanny child into preschool this month. Over the past three years-potty training, using the restroom in public, successful calm downs, first steps, swimming lessons, playground fun, there have been so many amazing moments 1000 letters cannot cover.
