I have worked with 2 lovely little boys who have autism, and very sweet young man with Down syndrome, and a funny little girl who is deaf. I had great experiences and learned so much from all of them.

I was a caregiver for a little girl who was deaf, she often acted out threw things, hit, etc. she didn’t use much sign language so there was a communication barrier which caused her much frustration so we had to find other ways to communicate. We used facial expressions, drawing, body movements, and intuition to form a way of communication and when that happened we connected and all of the acting out stopped she became a sweet loving silly little girl.
