Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked for 30+ years at preschools and child care centers in Duluth as an Infant Teacher and Preschool Teacher. I teach preschoolers at Wednesday night youth group and do the nursery at my church. I raised 4 children of my own and took care of my 2 grandchildren (both 6 years old) from birth until now while also caring for a friend’s child from the time he was 9 months old until he was 3 years old. I just spent the past 18 months as a nanny for a sweet little boy who is heading off to preschool in September.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing songs and finger plays, reading books, doing many different types of art and exploring through science and sensory activities. I enjoy watching children explore the world around them through all of their senses. I enjoy nature walks and going on adventures. My grandchildren and I loved going to Story Time at the Library and going to a Stay & Play ECFE class on Friday mornings at Piedmont Elementary School. We spent time at The Children’s Museum, The Lake Superior Zoo and the Aquarium as well as probably every playground in Duluth and the surrounding areas.

One day while I was taking care of my 2 grandchildren who were 2 years old at the time and a friends child who was 3 years old we were in the van on our way somewhere and the kids were obsessed with busses so they pointed out every bus they saw. We sang “The Wheels On the Bus” 🚌 and then I made a detour and parked next to the parking lot where the school busses go when they aren’t in use and the kids absolutely loved it!! After that whenever we were nearby (and a few times when we weren’t) they asked if we could go say hi to the busses. So we did. 😊
