A little bit about me

My name is Cindy. I am 21 years old and live in Anaheim California. I have six siblings and out of the six siblings I have 4 toddlers. I have experience with special needs children due to one of my little brother's having special needs. I am currently working at a place called The Treigning Lab, a place where people go for therapies like oxygen therapy, red light therapy, etc. One of my biggest passions is to babysit children. I have done it for most of my life by helping with my own siblings, nieces/nephews, and family friends. I am very passionate when it comes to children of all ages and I also have lots of patience when it comes to taking care of them.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have some experience working for OCDE, Orange County Department of Education. The reason for me working with them was to help the family I was working for at that time. The mother of the child I was caring for was a single mom so paying me was difficult for her so she decided to do it with OCDE. The payments with them was tough for me since their payments were monthly only and I was not able to keep working for them. Getting paid by month at that time was difficult because of things that needed to be payed through the entire month. Unfortunately I had to stop caring for the child which was very heartbreaking.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Some indoor activities I enjoy to do with children is arts and crafts or fort building. I find it to be very fun for young children and it gives them something to look forward after a task that they must do before.
Some outdoor activities I enjoy doing with children is definitely taking them to the park. Children love parks and not only for the playground but, there is so much to do there like playing sports, and just interacting with other children as well.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for My brother who is now 14 years of age. He has born with some abnormal liquid fluid in his brain which caused some delays in his growth as well as speech and other things. Whenever my mom needs me to care for him I do. Taking care of children with special needs is definitely challenging especially when the child gets fuzzy but can't communicate correctly or when they get overwhelmed. These challenges are something I look forward to because I get to experience them and learn from them. Which is how I have learned how to comfort my own brother in different situations.
I also have a niece who has autism. She is 5 years old and I actually used to babysit her when she was about 5 months- 1 year old. Once she was about 2 we started to notice her autism. Caring for kids with autism is also very tough but being able to read her, helps me understand her so much as well as knowing when she is stimming which is a very important.
