My experience with special needs children...
I received my a registered behavior technician certification through the BACB in Illinois. This work included conducting ABA therapy programs for children with autism, progress monitoring and data collection, in-home therapy sessions with clients, collaborating, conferencing, and teaching programs/methods to clients and their families.
I have been a teacher in the elementary school setting for 4 years where I have taught students with various learning, physical, and developmental disabilities.
I have nannied for several students with special needs. The majority of my experience in special needs in childcare has been with autism on all ends of the spectrum. I have cared for children who are handicapped, non-verbal, and who utilize feeding tubes. I work with all accommodations.
