A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Clarisse. I am a mother of 2 of my own children. My son Eli is 11 and my daughter Payton will be 10 in Sept (2022). I am a stepmom of a 17y girl names Jillian. She lives with her father and I full time. We have also taken in a family friends daughter who is 19 now and we think of her as our own daughter. I feel bad for my husband and son, all these girls around! We are dog and cat friendly family so no worried if you have pets. I also currently work part time at Petsmart in Florence. I moved from NY (Long Island, NOT the city) in July 2020 to be here with my stepdaughter. I could not possibly be happier with the move. I grew up around farm animals so it was only a matter of time! More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am a mom of a 17 year old stepdaughter, 10 year old daughter, 11 year old son. In high school I took a college level coarse to become an elementary school teacher. Prior to my own kids I have been a mommy's helper and a babysitter back on Long Island, NY.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I grew up very outdoorsy. Hiking trails or the halls of a mall. Camping in a national park or right in the back yard. Swimming at the river or in the pool. Bike rides are a great way to be outdoors and burn some energy. Having kids help cook is a great way to expand their knowledge of daily life. I try to get my kids to go for a walk with me and the dogs, they think that's to much of a chore. Family is everything.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny would be ensuring safety and guaranteeing the well being of the child(ren). I am a mom myself so I would treat the kids as if my own while staying withing the boundaries set by the parents/guardians.

My experience with special needs children...

I have been a babysitter for triplets with autism. Only 1 of them really needed help and guidance on a day to day basis. I worked as a school bus monitor for a special needs girl. I never knew what her "need" was but boy did she have a mouth on her! I would still be working with her if she didn't graduate and I didn't move from NY to SC
