Hello! I hope everyone is doing well in these extraordinary and uncertain times. My name is Makiah and I am a professional childcare provider. As a teacher, I have a deep love and admiration for children, and with teaching a classroom of 17 kids riddled with various personalities, I am equipped to handle all of the emotional ups and downs your child may have! as well as provide the care, energy, and stability they may need. I currently hold my CDA and I am in school pursuing an education degree. I am a patient and empathic person and I will work my hardest to help out where I can. Although, I do have transportation to get me to and from I will unfortunately not be able to do any drop-off, pick-up, or grocery errands. I can do anything from light housekeeping, and meal prep, and I can also create a curriculum for your child’s needs. My main goal as a caretaker is to make home life a bit easier for everyone and to bring positive guidance and fun energy. 😊💗

I’ve had a lot of memorable moments as a childcare provider, but one that sticks out the most is when I was out on the playground with my class and one of my students pointed out a spider web. I picked her up so she could get a closer look and I said “ A Spider eww” and she replied, “It’s not eww it’s beautiful”. That moment changed my perspective on how we as adults have a lot of fear when it comes to certain things but because children are so curious and innocent they don’t carry that same fear. I found that moment very admirable and it was a teaching moment for me from her.
