Hi:
I am devoted to taking great care of people. I Iive an active and pure, purpose driven life. I love all people but most especially children. I have my Bachelors in Education and the Fine Arts; I am a constant learner/speaker of Spanish as my second language and have lived internationally full-time and enjoyed being immersed in another culture and language. I loved it! I raised 6 children and owned a Graphic Design and Illustration Company while homeschooling them for 26 years. I thank GOD to still be fit and healthy.
I have worked amongst families and provided every level of care and the varying expectations that accompany a professional demeanor and joyful service. HNW families I am experienced with also. I have lived within homes over the years, of many a client and have references.

20 years plus a a classroom, private and public, and homeschool teacher. Co-op leader; Church School teacher; VBS teacher; manager at a Camp/Conference & Retreat Center; Mom to 6; Host home for CEF summer missionaries; Nanny to several and Special needs private care giver.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Walking; playground; parks; swings; swimming; reading; stroller walks; chalk on the driveway; hide n seek; drawing; teaching academic skills in fun ways; board games; sports; biking; picnics; play ball; rainy day things like rice in a water wheel on cookie sheets on the kitchen floor; coloring books; puzzles; trucks n cars; dolls and tea parties; dress up; put on a play; bake; clean up.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is to be giving my all for the good of the children, to my best ability, with joy and sobriety; helping the children to enjoy their days and times with me and safely relate to siblings or anyone else who is with them when I am with them. My eyes in the back of my head always in go mode especially if we are out.

My experience with special needs children...

Have been the sole care giver for a severely autistic young boy; non-speaking; nova chat training. have worked in PT and OT rehab at hospital. Have had private care jobs with para and quadriplegia afflicted persons.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Seeing infant Ellie sleep after hours of walking and rocking her:)
Playing hide and seek with 2 year old Lucas whose family mostly spoke another language in their home; one I do not speak. Part of why it was so cute was this little guys accent and speech patterns when he spoke English. He would come home from his daycare with his Dad and we developed a game because of his shyness. After awhile and once he knew me, we would simply enter into our sweet game with him hiding and saying "Where are you Colleen?" and I was usually stationary, in the family room, holding the baby. Not transferring too well in writing but his voice was just too adorable.
Having my autism guy just come up to me and grab my face, laughing, or just quietly t give me a kiss when he'd see me in or outside of the times I was caring for him.
