A little bit about me

My name is Conner McPheeters and its a pleasure to hopefully meet you, I want to be straight to the point that I have zero PAID experience with taking care of children/Special needs persons. However I do still have home experience. I'm out going and I always try and understand what someone's point of view is, I also still have a pretty strong passion for things like dinosaurs and space and games. Hopefully that will help me be able to relate and build a positive relationship. Personally I spend most of my free time either reading, hiking, fishing, working out, or helping my family at home. And of course I try to play a little video games when I can. But this is a little about me and if you've gotten this far thank you for giving me the time.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Teachers aid for 5th graders during my senior year. Helped the students through problems during assignment time and sometimes lead the class. I also spent a lot of time grading papers, my nickname by the end of the year was Mr.ramen because they couldn't pronounce my last name from looking at it and found out Ramen was my favorite food at the time. Still makes me smile. Currently i help my cousin and grandma with their 1 year old and special ed son respectively. I previously also helped babysit a few of my friends kids.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

It really depends on the age group. For ages like 1 to 3 I'd probably focus more on noise making light up toys as well as the occasional educational but entertaining video or cartoon as well as all the attention in the world. For ages 4 to 7 add in some more physical play. Some tag, hide and go seek, maybe even start to introduce go fish or skipBo to the more advanced children. 7 to 10 is when I imagine kids will start to diverge on what they like more. I think girls would like some things a bit different but still across the bord I'd say that's when they start to like video games as well as social media which in them selves I dont think social media or games are bad however everything good should still be kept in moderation. Too much of anything even for us adults can be a bad decision or even bad for our health.

My experience with special needs children...

I actually went to special needs class for a few years when very young. I graduated my file when I hit 4th grade. Still ill always remember that some people will always think on a different level then you. And its important to try and understand their thinking to help them and make them happy. I've had about 6 years of experience helping take care of my special needs uncle.
