Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Special education lead paraprofessional in a facility school gor intensive behaviors for over a year, before that I worked with young adults with disabilities for over a year and babysat 3+ kids at a time for 3 years in highschool.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Board games, video games, walks and general outdoor play, arts and crafts, learning, singing/dancing/making music throughout activities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Helping the children I work for build their independence and self-confidence and love in themselves. I beleive in a gentle approach and minimizing power struggles when possible while still holding firm boundaries. I aim to gain mutual respect and trust and help each child develop their emotional awareness and communication in high stress situations.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with special needs children and adults for 3 years and continue to work as a lead paraprofessional at a facility school for children with IDD and requiring high awareness of nonverbal and often very specific communication and cues. I have a deep passion for working with this community and am deeply passionate for working with these children on building their independence and confidence in communicating with others and loving ourselves. I regularly work with children with high physical behaviors towards themselves and others, elopement, and attention struggles.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite part of caring for children is a ritual in my classroom at the facility school I work for where every morning with the children we dance and sing to a variety of requested songs to start off on a fun note every day. Fan favorite is the mickey mouse hot dog dance.
