Hi I'm Courtney! I am 25 years old and I have 7 years of experience. I can help with child care, grocery shopping, errands, crafts, and light housekeeping. I have experience with newborns- 18 years old. I was a part time nanny for a little boy for 3 years (newborn-3 years old) and I have also been employed part time for 5 years as a Respite Caregiver for a 4-year-old boy and 18-year-old girl. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am currently and have been employed for 5 years as a part time respite caregiver to a 18 year old girl. My responsibilities are taking her to dance class and picking her up from school, helping her prepare her lunch, keeping her safe, helping her learn independence, etc. I was a nanny for a little boy for 3 years (newborn-3 years old). My responsibilities were to prepare his bottles and give at correct feeding times, change his diapers, keep him safe, interact/ entertain him, take him on walks, follow his nap schedule, help him learn, etc. I care for my three nephews occasionally (13, 12, and 3 years old). My responsibilities for my 13 and 12 year old nephews include taking them to/ from sports activities, preparing them dinner, picking them up from school, and keeping them safe. My responsibilities for my 3 year old nephew were to prepare his bottles/feed him meals, change his diaper, follow his nap schedule, keep him entertained, help him learn, keep him safe, etc.

Crafts, board games, coloring, scavenger hunts, going to the park, baking, picnics, reading books, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part to me is being able to make a difference in the child’s life. I want to give them new moments, new activities/experiences to look forward to and to enjoy in their day. Their feelings of their own worth/ confidence, acceptance, and happiness in their life and world around them is important to me!

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked in direct care for a 18 year old girl with Down Syndrome for 5 years.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was working as a nanny with a 3 year old little boy that I had been watching since he was 3 months old and he said my name for the first time a little bit after his 2nd birthday. I loved hearing him call me “corky” when he wanted me to hold him or play with him(: He’s my little best friend.
