Hi my name is Crystal. First off I am extremely enthusiastic, energetic, and completely enjoy being silly and playful. I believe that play can be the best way to help a child learn. I currently work at a day care with children birth to 4 years of age. However I have experience with older children as well. I am a certified behavior technician trained in ABA therapy, CPR/First aid, proficiency in American Sign Language and
I have multiple DWC and state of Michigan childcare certificates that I will provide if asked.
As a mother of two grown children I know how important it is to have the right person around your little ones. Play based learning and positive reinforcement is definitely my two strengths. I owned a cleaning company for 13 years so yes I clean and love to do so. Cleaning is relaxing to me so when you come home your home will be cleaned and sanitized. I am looking for part-time and any age is fine. Your child is the most important person and the center of your life.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I believe children should be outside whenever possible. Going to the park or to the pool. Indoor activities I enjoy are reading, working on motor skills through play. And make-believe play. Working on hand eye coordination is extremely important when they are very little. I would say lots of learning through play and sensory play

Always remembering that I am here to help,teach, play and most importantly to make sure I am doing what the parents want for their child. To keep their children safe and to make sure they feel loved

My experience with special needs children...

I am a certified behavior technician specializing in ABA therapy. I have dealt with all sorts of aggressive behaviors and have the skills and knowledge to help.
I have worked with children that cannot fed themselves and feeding tube's. I have also worked with non verbal clients, and ones that need assistance with walking such as cerebral palsy. I am proficient in American Sign language as well

The most important part about being a nanny...

One moment that always brings a smile to my face was when I worked with a 3 1/2 year old boy. Very rambunctious, very smart and silly. We made a turkey from tracing his hand but he thought turkey's had to go in the oven! I was able to make a little tin foil "pan" and I placed it in the oven. When his mommy came home he told her he cooked her a turkey for dinner. Little did he know that I had already texted mom and she had gotten an already cooked chicken from kroger. While he was telling mom all about his cooked turkey i switched his hand one for the real chicken. When he opened the oven his face was shocked and he said "mom I'm professional" we started laughing so much. He really thought he was a professional little chef!
I also was able to potty train a 4yr old who had autism. After 3 months he was on that potty!! We were all so proud. Mom and dad had tried for over a year. I made sure to collect data of when he went which helped to get him trained.
