A little bit about me

I am a psychology and sociology student in my senior year at CU Boulder. I will be graduating in May, and after that am spending my summer as a camp counselor! I have a large family with many young kids, through which I've discovered how much I love children. When I visit my family, I spend the whole time chasing after my younger cousins and playing with superhero action figures. I also enjoy hiking, writing, drawing, and watching movies. After my summer job, I am moving to Austin and would love to be able to nanny as a full time job there.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have no official experience in nannying, but I have a few years of informal, yet frequent babysitting experience through my 9 year old sister, starting when she was 6 months old, and cousins ages 1 to 7. Furthermore, I am working full time as a counselor at a summer camp with kids ages 5-13 this summer. I also have informal experience with kids with special needs, as one of my cousins is autistic. I have advanced, conversational American Sign Language knowledge. I have my own transportation and a wide range of availability. I can begin working August 12th

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am looking forward to experiencing a wide variety of new activities this summer as a camp counselor, but for now, I enjoy playing games, coloring pictures, and running around outside! I have so much fun playing soccer with my younger cousins. We also like to have "dance parties" in the living room, usually listening to songs from Moana.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I'd probably say that it is caring. Caring about the child you nanny entails that you care about their safety, their happiness, their enjoyment. You care that they are having a good time and are safe while doing it.

My experience with special needs children...

I do have personal experience with autistic children. I have an autistic cousin and from my experiences with him, I have been able to learn a lot about what kids on the spectrum may deal with. However, I have no experience taking care of children with special needs professionally.
