More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Each Sunday while I am back home in Illinois, I serve as a room leader in my church’s infant room. This usually involves two to three caregivers caring for around 15–20 babies under the age of two. This experience has strengthened my ability to stay patient, attentive, organized, and calm in fast paced childcare environments while still making sure each child feels safe and cared for.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love being outside with kids, whether that’s going on walks, playing at the park, swimming, or just getting fresh air and staying active. I also enjoy reading with children, doing crafts, sensory activities, imaginative play, and finding fun ways to help them learn naturally through everyday activities. I really value things that help with creativity, communication, confidence, social skills, and overall development while still making sure kids are having fun and feel safe and cared for.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, the most important part of being a nanny is creating a relationship not only with the child, but with the entire family. I think being a great nanny is about meeting children where they are at, understanding their personalities, and helping them feel safe, supported, and loved. I love helping children learn through everyday moments, encouraging creativity, kindness, curiosity, and confidence as they grow. I also believe it is important to help children through the tough moments too, especially when they are having big feelings, by being patient, calm, and someone they can trust and feel comfortable with.
My experience with special needs children...
While my experience is more limited, I was involved in Buddy Club throughout high school, where I worked closely with students with special needs during school events and activities. That experience taught me a lot about patience, inclusion, communication, and how important it is to create a positive and supportive environment for every child.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny memories was with a little girl I cared for over the summer. Every morning I would get there before she woke up, and I always knew she was awake when I heard her yelling “Cynthia! Cynthia!” from her room. When I would walk in, she would have the biggest smile on her face. It was such a small thing, but it always made my day and reminded me how special the bond between a nanny and child can become.
