More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I am currently retired. I was a 1st grade teacher for 11 years. Prior to that I was a Pre-K teacher for 4 years and when I lived in NY, I was a caregiver for a class of 1 year-olds in Early Head Start. I have plenty of experience with children.
I am also a mother of 6. Three of which I adopted and they are the youngest. Two of the 6 are currently in the military. One just became a chief for the Navy and she's, stationed in Norfolk, Va. My other daughter is a captain in the Army and she lives in Texas. My youngest was enlisted for 7 years in the Army then decided it wasn't for him, he resides in Orlando. My oldest daughter lives MS, my other daughter lives NJ, and my oldest son lives in Winter Haven. All are successful! I also have 9 grandchildren.
So as you can see, I really enjoy children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I feel children learn through play. I enjoy reading books, developing their imaginations through pretend play, playing educational board games, working with flash cards and do anything that can trigger a love of learning. For infants and toddlers, I like to work on their milestones and help them reach their potential in a fun and loving way.
The most important part about being a nanny...
What matters most to me about being a nanny is watching a child develop their milestones with my assistance, while having patience. Always be loving and caring. Treat the child in your care as your own. Be nurturing and have great communication skills not just with the child but also with the family. Learning through plains my philosophy!
My experience with special needs children...
Since working as a teacher I have worked with children who have had ADHD, and High Functioning Autism.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My memorable moment as a nanny was when one of my kids began reading with some praise and encouragement.
