Hi, my name is Dandrea Bridges, friends call me Dee. I am an aunt of 13, with 3 great nieces and 2 great nephews. I absolutely love children. I have been working with children since I was 13 for a summer job with a daycare and Boys and Girls club. I have volunteered at church with the dance ministry and vacation Bible school, as well with the teens. I’m an outgoing person and love spending time with family. I love learning new things, trying new foods, just living life and having fun with family and friends. They say I’m a child at heart. Theme parks, the zoo, you name it! Kids keep you young, you learn so much from them & oh my are they honest!!! More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a Daycare teacher, volunteered at vacation Bible school and helped in dance ministry, also babysat numerous of times for my family and friends.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy outdoor fun. Kickball, baseball, riding bikes, hide and seek. I love to draw, color and paint and do word searches! I am a 90s baby, so we didn’t have all of the electronics that the kids have today. We had to be adventurous and use our imagination!

The most important part about being a nanny...

To be attentive, to treat the kids and their family as you would want someone to treat your own. You really are a stranger entering their life. So it’s important to be honest, loving and caring and you are apart of their village so you are an important part of a child’s life. The things they learn, the things they see.. you could have a big influence on that! So it’s important that you leave a positive mark. Children are our future!!

My experience with special needs children...

I don’t have much experience with special needs kids as far as caring for them. I have a best friend whose son is autistic, so I have had some type of experience with him as far as it takes a lot of work and attention & you have to have plenty of patience. He is so loving and sweet, but at times when he is upset he can be a handful, which is understandable as he cannot express himself verbally.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Kids cheer you up! I have never been able to just have a bad need when they are around! They are funny! They keep you laughing and keep you young. They will make sure you learn all the new dances, the new video games, they will tell about their friends or pretend gf/bf. When they hurt, you hurt! They are so innocent and boy are they honest! I have so many moments with my little cousins or nieces and nephews. One time my niece was not ready to go to bed and didn’t want to get in the shower, so she pouted but finally went and after about 15 minutes, I went to check on her and she was on the floor knocked out! She was 8 at the time! We still laugh about that today and she’s in college now. I had a little cousin who was going around picking up pennies, and when asked what he was doing, he said getting some money to help my mommy pay her light bill. That was a time that they have just made me appreciate the little things.
