More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Babysitting my little cousins. (i used to watch them since i was around 11 for some change but i no longer see them so i need to get a real job now 😂.)
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Anything! Coloring, playing games like video-games, board games and whatnot, going outside or to the park, making snacks, making crafts, dance parties, and a lot more! Whatever need must be met will be met 😁
The most important part about being a nanny...
In my opinion, the most important part of being a nanny is impacting the child and parents who trust you in a good way. Supporting the child is very important to me, i hate seeing kids being mistreated. It’s disturbing. Personally, I believe Maslow’s hierarchy of needs perfectly summarizes how to recognize the basic needs of a child. I integrate every 5 basic needs into almost every person i socialize with so i am more than happy to help. I think the most important part of being a nanny is recognizing the child you’re working with and supporting them in any way needed. But not only what they need, also what they want whether it be an ice cream on a bad day or a dance party when they’re bored or whatnot! Fun is the number one thing i think all kids should experience the most while they’re young, and responsibility too but definitely fun.
My experience with special needs children...
My cousin has autism (he’s six) and i have no issues taking care of him nor any other child with any special need. I understand that their needs are different, and i understand the complex emotions they feel. Patience, empathy, listening skills and communication (not only verbal, i know a lot of special needs children and adults are nonverbal, but that doesnt mean we cant just play games and eat and whatnot!) are the most helpful things i notice, but not every special needs child has the same needs. I am MORE than willing to learn what your child needs! I am a firm believer in personal space, taking your time to open up, and the fact that every person is worthy of patience and acceptance for who they are. I can handle any meltdowns or harmful behavior, i will treat your child with only patience and respect and try my hardest to make their day better or just make them feel safe. 🫰🏽
The most important part about being a nanny...
When i was 13 i was babysitting my newborn cousin and she came up to me with one of her toys, i was recording THANK GOODNESS and there was genuinely just spaghetti all over it. I immediately dropped it and started laughing. Then, while i wasn't looking, she threw the toy at me 😭 it was soo funny it was more of a “you had to be there to understand how funny it was” thing though. 😂
