The most important part about being a nanny is making sure you’re on the same page as the parents and providing care in a way that reflects what they would do. It’s about stepping into their shoes, keeping routines consistent, making decisions based on their values, and ensuring their child feels just as loved and supported as if they were there. I think staying in touch with the parents is key to making sure you’re always aligned and providing the best care possible.

My experience with special needs children...

I’ve been actively involved in supporting my older brother, who has schizophrenia, since a young age. At home, I assisted with daily routines, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and ensuring a structured environment to help manage his symptoms. I learned to monitor and manage his medications, keeping track of dosages and schedules to ensure adherence. Additionally, I accompanied him to medical appointments and advocated for his needs, collaborating with healthcare professionals to adjust treatments as necessary.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my most cherished memories is babysitting my 4-year-old cousin, Genesis. We spent the afternoon creating a mini art gallery at her house. She was so proud of her paintings, and we even had a “gallery opening” where her parents came to see her work. Her excitement and joy were so contagious.
