I have done volunteer work & internships at Ann & Robert H Lurie children’s hospital :) and have cared for my own special needs sister since she was an infant. I am a certified nursing assistant as well!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love coloring & painting with little ones! I do try to keep things fun and interesting for them so usually I’ll let them lead the activity! I love watching kid-friendly movies! Going to the park! Playing with their toys!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Patience! Kids are still fresh, their brains are developing, so having patience with them is extremely important.
My experience with special needs children...
When I was 2 my little sister was born with cerebral palsy and was special needs. She can’t walk or talk and she is NPO so she eats through a g-tube. Growing up my mom was a single mother so I helped her with pretty much everything! Giving medication, feeding, installing the g-tubes, cleaning them, meal prep, and overall just knowing how to be careful with such a fragile child!
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment has to be when the holidays come around and I was able to surprise some of the kids I’d babysit for with their favorite things :)
