Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I started babysitting at 15 and I have cared for children all of my life. I took 2 years off to go ack to school for Medical Assisting. I then worked in a doctors office for 9 years. After my grandson was born I left my job to open my in home daycare. I did that for 8 years and then I decided that I wanted to work outside the home again. I now work for a school district. I am looking to continue caring for little ones part time after school. I live in Greece so ideally I would like something closer to home. I also have two kids in college that play soccer and we love to attend those games as often as possible. So a position that has flexibility on the days would be perfect. Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I really enjoy working with the little ones. Their little brains are like sponges and they pick up on everything. Including things like numbers, letters, shapes and colors to every day play helps them learn in a fun way. I also enjoy going for walks and playing outside.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part to me is remembering that the child you are caring for is someone else's whole world. I know what my children and grandchildren mean to me and I know how I would feel if they were not being cared for the way I would care for them.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience with children with autism, anger issues, down syndrome, and learning disabilities. I am adaptable and willing to learn.
