I have lead both school camps (Math and Science based) for elementary through middle school children, and Catholic church camps for elementary through high school. I worked in elementary and middle schools as a teacher aide for 2 years as a volunteer during college.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love being outdoors doing really anything from hiking/walks, swimming, exploring/doing little science experiments, picnics, sports, imaginary play, working with animals (I'm a farm kid so I love animals), you name it. I also love reading, painting, coloring, doing arts and crafts, learning, and being involved in the child's personal interests.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I got the chance to tutor twin boys in first grade and a boy in 3rd grade for a family of 10 children. Their siblings just ran around, hung on me while I taught, and just treated me like a big sister. I LOVED IT!
I would spend hours there, even after finishing our lessons, just being shown around and playing games with them while their mom was able to get supper ready.
They moved 4 hours away and begged me to come with them, haha. I still visit the family anytime I have an open weekend.
