"Darby was so lovely to have as a babysitter for our son. She was communicative with us about her availability and would always try to make last minute requests work. Our son loved her and I always felt confident leaving my son with her. She was responsible, fun for my son, and very kind. She also watched our cat on occasion when we would go out of town and she was always reliable with this as well."

More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My childcare journey started early. I'm the oldest among many cousins and helped care for my younger sister growing up, which gave me years of hands-on experience from a young age. In high school, I began babysitting regularly for family friends and neighbors, working with children from toddlers through teenagers. I've also worked as an elementary school tutor, including supporting students with ADHD and Asperger's, and spent multiple years coaching youth soccer for ages 3-12. Additionally, I volunteered for five years with Charities Within Reach, traveling to Thailand to build meaningful relationships with children in our safe homes program.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love getting kids excited about the world around them! Whether it's exploring tidepools and talking about marine life, doing simple science experiments in the kitchen, or getting creative with art projects, I try to make learning feel like play. I'm also big on outdoor activities like hiking, playing soccer, or just spending time at the park. For quieter moments, I enjoy reading together, doing puzzles, or working on homework in a way that feels supportive rather than stressful. I believe childhood should be full of curiosity, laughter, and plenty of time outside.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is building trust with both the children and their parents. Kids need to feel safe, heard, and valued in order to truly thrive, and parents need to know their children are in capable, caring hands. I take that responsibility seriously. It's about showing up consistently, being fully present, and creating an environment where children feel confident to explore, ask questions, and be themselves. At the end of the day, I want to be someone families can count on and someone children genuinely look forward to spending time with.
My experience with special needs children...
During my time as an elementary school tutor, I worked closely with students who had ADHD and Asperger's, which taught me the importance of patience, flexibility, and individualized approaches to learning and communication. I learned that every child has their own unique way of processing information and expressing themselves, and my role is to meet them where they are. Whether that meant breaking tasks into smaller steps, providing extra time and reassurance, or finding creative ways to keep them engaged, I always focused on building their confidence and celebrating their progress.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments was when a girl I was nannying told me I was like her older sister. Having a close bond with my own younger sister is something I cherish deeply, so hearing that meant the world to me. One of the parts I love most about working with kids is that each child is so different, and getting to see the funny, unique side of each one is incredibly special. There have been so many hilarious and heartwarming moments I've shared with kids through coaching, nannying, and tutoring, and I love being there to not only cherish these moments with them but to protect and encourage them to never let their light dim. Being able to inspire and help a child learn more about who they are and what they're passionate about is what makes this work so rewarding.

Hi there, I’m Gia! I love spending time with kids and have always been told that I have a way with them! Most of my childcare experience comes from caring for my younger brother who has special needs over the past five years, along with three years of teaching group and private swim lessons.
