Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I never had a set schedule, it was more local and connections. I took care for family members, friends of family, coworkers etc. It was always spaced out and inconsistent, but I’m looking forward to a more stable schedule
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I personally love the outdoors especially when the weather is beautiful, I get fun activities like chalk on the driveway, bubbles, hula hoops, hopscotch. When the weather is more harsh and its an inside day I bring things like coloring books, cookie dough to bake, I like mini science experiments with innocent ingredients from the kitchen, I have cook books for kids etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Safety. I have always been an advocate for safety being #1 especially with children. My main goal is to make sure any child is safe, healthy, loved, and happy. I will always leave making sure there isn't anything else I could do.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a younger brother with special needs (Autism) and since I was 5 I have been his rock in the family, helping him through his struggles with learning and speech. There have been difficult times of course, but throughout the years we’ve gotten so much better and there’s been so much progress!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I was babysitting my friends daughter and we were outside of the front porch. Im helping her fill in the colors on her coloring books while shes out on the grass prancing around. She asks me for some juice so I grab one from the cooler and as I hand it to her she hands me a surprise bouquet of flowers she had been collecting and expressed how sad she was going to be after I left for college. It warmed my heart and brought me to tears.
