Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I am a volunteer guide at the Monterey Bay Aquarium where I regularly interact with children and teach them about our local oceans in an age-appropriate manner. These children generally range from 1 yr old to teenagers. I also have babysat on and off for around 9 years, primarily caring for infants and toddlers with the occasional elementary-schooler. I also was a full-time nanny for a newborn to infant for about a year.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I was in charge of teaching crafting classes to kids at Michaels for 3 years so I enjoy doing crafts with kids. I also was a camp counselor at a performing arts camp so singing and dancing are always fun activities. I enjoy going to the park and exploring the area. I also enjoy playing video games with older children (as parents allows of course).Reading is another fun activity for any age!
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience predominantly with autistic special needs children but am comfortable with working with any special needs children (with personalized instruction and meetings). My younger sibling is high support needs autistic and through babysitting him and other kids in his social circles, I feel comfortable in my ability to afford the specialized attention necessary.
