I worked as an assistant teacher in a daycare. I worked primarily with toddler aged children, but I do have experience with older kids as well.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Arts and crafts is a great activity for any kid. It allows for a wide variety of activities, both indoors and outdoors, and helps younger children develop their motor skills and problem solving abilities. Past that, I typically try to allow the kids to tell me what they want to do and figure out a way to do that in both a fun and safe way.
My experience with special needs children...
I myself am neurodivergent, and my younger brother was diagnosed with autism when he was in first grade. Because of this, I began research into child psychology to help find ways for both my brother and I to function on a more effective level. While I don't have any traditional schooling regarding special needs children, I'm more than willing to learn about a child's needs and what I can do to meet those needs.

I absolutely love children and pets would be a big bonus! I love being outside. I am CPR certified! I have worked at a day for about 2 years. I love being able to watch and help children grow. From their first steps, to first words, or completing a puzzle, to coloring in the lines, to running around the playground. Being at a daycare made me really want to focus on one family. But by being with all those kids makes it easy on me for your child to have friends over! I’ve been that age once, and being stuck with the nanny all summer isn’t always fun. I would want to see my friends too. So just know I am always okay with extra kids! Along those lines, extra work like pets is no issue! I have one myself so I am fully prepared!
